My name is Henry True. I am a Mechanical Engineer at the Colorado School of Mines. I have a minor in Economics and I am graduating this upcoming May.
I got into Economics for the same reason I got an Engineering degree. A borderline obsessive fascination with how the world works. Engineering tells us about physics and Economics tells us about society.
I believe any understanding of the world is incomplete without being able to see both and very rarely is a complete understanding given in modern media. Perhaps the most endearing quality about “hard sciences” when compared to “soft sciences” is that only the former can have a “right” answer. Since hard sciences are ultimately governed by the unyielding laws of nature.
My goal with this project is to provide the math and fundamental concepts behind emerging technologies instead of just the number to the right of the equal sign. I will provide the assumptions and equations, based on the laws of physics, behind the numbers I use to make conclusion so my math can be repeated. I would never ask anyone to accept what I have to say on blind faith and ultimately we are all governed by the laws of nature. There is nothing you or I can do to bend them to our will. I hope you enjoy reading Exergy.
